This dress faithfully reproduces female Viking garments from the 9th-10th centuries, based on Scandinavian archaeological finds. Nordic women wore long tunics made of linen or wool with a loose cut that allowed freedom of movement for daily tasks. The slit neckline, adjustable with brooches, was characteristic of the Viking Age, allowing for adaptation according to the season. The hand-stitched witch stitch embroidery with contrasting color details reflects the Scandinavian textile tradition, where women decorated their garments with geometric and symbolic motifs.
