Ove Viking tunic with herringbone pattern, wine red
Our knee-length cotton tunic is made of sturdy cotton fabric with a woven herringbone pattern and features contrasting details made of canvas. It is elaborately crafted and therefore designed as an outer garment.
The round neckline has an opening in the center front and can be worn open or closed with a brooch as desired. The tunic has a straight cut and the slits in the side seams ensure sufficient freedom of movement.
The look and cut of the tunic correspond to clothing from the Early Middle Ages in Northern Europe. Typical of this era are knee-length outer garments, simple cuts composed mainly of rectangles, and simple embellishments. Archaeological findings that prove the simple cut were made, for example, in Bernuthsfeld (8th century) and in Thorsberg (4th century). There is also numerous archaeological evidence of twill fabrics with a herringbone pattern, for example from Haithabu and Birka.
The tunic is perfect for all Norsemen. For an authentic look, we recommend combining it with a leather belt.
