Jasper Medieval Tunic - Short Sleeve Black
Attire of the Migration Period and Early Middle Ages
This medieval tunic is suitable for representing many tribes of northern and central Europe during the Migration Period (4th–6th centuries) through the Early Middle Ages (7th–11th centuries). During this period, Germanic, Viking, and Celtic tribes wore simple, functional tunics as a basic daily garment. The black color, although difficult to achieve with medieval natural dyes, was valued for its sobriety and was obtained using oak bark, gallnut, or iron dyes.
Functional Cotton with Historical Design
Made of 100% sturdy cotton fabric, this short-sleeved tunic is perfect for summer and is part of essential reenactment gear. The round neckline features a central front slit that can be worn open or closed with a fibula (brooch). The gores inserted into the side seams from the hip provide freedom of movement. The front and back feature slits at the hem to allow for comfortable horseback riding. With a total length of 102 cm (size L), it is recommended to pair it with a leather belt for an authentic look. Machine wash at 40°C on a gentle cycle, do not tumble dry. Sizes S to 3XL available.
