Delight in Viking Tent, 3 X 2.7 X 2 M, 350 G/m², Natural Color
Viking tent without frame, 3 x 2.7 x 2 m, 350 g/m², natural color
Viking tents have many advantages over other medieval tents: they are robust, stable in construction, and storage on solid ground is also guaranteed, as pegs are not absolutely necessary and you can let your creativity run wild when designing your structure.
The best-known models are based on findings in Oseberg and Gokstad, which, however, were not completely preserved and were therefore partially reconstructed based on assumptions. Nothing precise can be said about the actual use of these tents. It is not entirely clear if they were actually used outdoors or simply set up for the Althing. Another theory suggests they were merchant tents. The word "krämer" was formed from the Old High German cram, which means tent. Consequently, they were used in markets at natural harbors.
Since the size of the original findings would be a logistical challenge for most of us, we build them a bit smaller and therefore more manageable.
In the Viking tent with dimensions of 3.0 x 2.7 x 2 m, you can accommodate up to three people with luggage; the smaller version, 2.0 x 2.3 x 1.8 m, has space for two people.
Please note that the tent is delivered without a frame!
Our tents and storage tarps are pre-impregnated and are therefore water-repellent. To maintain and renew the waterproofing, we recommend regular treatment with waterproofing spray, e.g., Pluvonin. This way, you will be able to enjoy your tent for a long time.

The dimensions are approximate and may vary with respect to the delivered product. The tents are handmade, which makes them look as authentic as possible, but also implies one or two small flaws. Cotton is a natural material that behaves differently under different external conditions, i.e., it can shrink or stretch significantly. Do not try to stretch the tent skin with great force. This increases the risk of it tearing or seams opening.
Important information regarding the assembly, handling, and care of our historical tents
For you to enjoy your Viking tent, Roman tent, Saxon tent, knight's tent, or Todo Medieval tent for a long time, if you have a tent or a medieval market stall, the following tips will be of great help:
Do not tighten the ropes too much, because natural materials like wood and cotton change with humidity and need space to expand or contract. This prevents, for example, the openings for the poles in the roof from widening and allowing water to penetrate later. At night, we recommend loosening the ropes slightly, as humidity increases significantly and there is a possibility of excessive pressure being exerted on the tent. If it rains or is very humid, loosen the ropes slightly. After use, make sure to dry the tent if it has become damp; otherwise, there is a risk of mold formation. Under no circumstances should you use chemicals or other cleaning products to clean your tent. It is best to remove dry dirt with a brush. If you want to store it for a longer period of time, separate all elements (pegs, ropes, etc.) from the tent tarp and, ideally, pack everything separately. Ensure that all parts are dry and stored in a dry place.
