About this book

Paddy Griffith is an independent military historian based in Manchester. His groundbreaking books on low-level tactics include Forward into Battle (1981 and 1990), Battle Tactics of the Civil War (1986), and Battle Tactics of the Western Front (1994). He has also written extensively on wargaming and is currently active in the Southern Manchester Tactical Society and the Battlefields Trust.
Peter Dennis was born in 1950. Inspired by contemporary magazines like Look and Learn, he studied illustration at Liverpool Art College. Since then, Peter has contributed to hundreds of books, predominantly on historical subjects. He is an enthusiastic wargamer and model maker. He is based in Nottinghamshire, UK.
