With the schnitzel du (two), Schnitzel Germany expands its range. This model is designed for use by older children or teenagers between 10 and 18 years old. But adults will also have fun with the du, as the blade and handle have increased in length. Unlike the schnitzel unu, the du has a real peak. The blade also has a classic, versatile Scandinavian cut (without a second cutting bevel), typical of knives from the Scandinavian region. This full-tang knife is razor-sharp because less pressure when carving minimizes the risk of injury.
Note:
Due to the classic Scandinavian cut, we recommend performing heavy work, such as hitting thick stones with an axe or hatchet.
To prevent the thumb from slipping while working, an effective jimping device was installed on the back of the blade. Behind the jimping device is a small recess that allows the refractory steel to be used effectively, as the back of the blade is sharper in this area than the rest of the knife.
The blade itself is made from high-quality, rust-proof, and robust Swedish Sandvik 14C28N steel and ends in a slight drop point. The blade's thickness doesn't decrease; it's consistently crafted from sturdy 3.1 mm Swedish steel. To further counteract corrosion of the steel during more intensive use, this outdoor knife has a matte anti-corrosion finish on the surface, which increases its longevity and also gives it an attractive appearance.
The non-slip, sturdy, and contoured G-10 handles ensure a secure grip, and a finger guard prevents the index finger from slipping on the edge. Threaded bushings (inner diameter 3 mm) matching the matte finish of the blade allow for easy disassembly for knife care. A paracord lanyard can also be attached as a handle if desired.
Last but not least is the sturdy and forgiving Kydex sheath that comes with it. Moisture, mud, and cold can't harm it. It fits like a second skin, closes around the knife, and allows for complete safety.
As a special feature, the Kydex sheath features flame-resistant steel with an attached Kydex holder, which is held securely in place (even after use) by an elastic band that matches the color of the handle. The refractory steel ignites easily in the recess at the back of the blade.

Clear rules when carving with children:
Since a knife is a sharp object, clear rules must be followed. This must be established from the start. Although our products are perfectly designed for small hands, certain safety precautions must be followed:
1.) Always carve sitting down, because the rule is: whoever carves, sits down!
2.) The correct posture when carving: For a secure grip, your feet should rest firmly on the floor when sitting with your legs apart. Your upper body should lean slightly forward, and your arms should rest on your thighs.
3.) When carving, you should always maintain a safe distance of two arms' length (approximately one meter) from other people.
4.) Carving with a sharp blade minimizes the risk of injury because less pressure must be applied.
5.) The carving motion should always be away from the body.
6.) After carving, the blade is safely stored in the sheath.
7.) The bark of living trees is taboo.
In principle, carving should always be supervised by an adult. Furthermore, the role model role of parents also applies here: those who don't follow the rules conscientiously run the risk of their child disregarding safety precautions.
