Italian dueling saber
Military sabers are generally very effective as cutting and thrusting weapons. However, they can also be quite heavy, so precise control over long periods of time could prove difficult. But the Italian dueling saber is different! Its long, thin blade with a slight curve and a sharp edge is light as a feather.
Many years ago, Master Ramón Martínez introduced Cold Steel® President Lynn C. Thompson to this extremely effective blade, and Lynn was so impressed that he began working on developing a version for Cold Steel®.
Cold Steel® Italian dueling sabers can best be described as smartly decorated. The skillfully forged blade has been heat-treated and polished, and the beautiful scroll patterns created by deep etching make it an absolute eye-catcher. The ingeniously openwork guard plate made of polished nickel steel has reinforced rolled edges and guarantees unsurpassed protection for the hand and forearm.
The beautiful, sturdy black leather scabbard is equipped with two rings. The throat and the chape were polished to a high sheen and provided with decorative engravings.

The carbon content and the relatively low levels of other materials in this steel make it a very stable material, free from the brittleness inherent in most high-carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that need to have high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed-blade knives, machetes, and swords.
