2020 Model
The original Black Talon from Cold Steel® was a revolutionary handcrafted knife in many respects that was only produced in a limited edition. It featured a modified curved talon blade made of Japanese San Mai® steel, a smooth titanium frame with G-10 handle scales, and a, for the time, very stable locking mechanism.
For a long time, Cold Steel® fans have been begging them to release a redesigned version of this iconic knife. Cold Steel® simply does not say no, and now offers a version with a fresh design that has been christened the Black Talon II.
The Black Talon II was created in collaboration between Lynn C. Thompson and knife maker Andrew Demko. Just like the original model, its blade is characterized by the distinctive tip, heavily drawn downward, and the pronounced belly. However, this version is manufactured in satin-finished S35VN steel and features a redesigned tip that is even more durable.
Even in cold or wet conditions, the G-10 handle scales ensure a perfect grip and maximum hold. They remain gentle on clothing, for example when taking it out of a pocket. The contrast between the deep black handle scales and the wonderfully shiny satin blade gives this beautiful and elegant folding knife even more charisma and style. Cold Steel® provides additional security with its highly efficient Tri-Ad® locking mechanism.

This is an extraordinary American super steel. CPM S35VN is not only extremely tough and durable, but it can also be sharpened very well to a razor edge and retains this edge for a long time. With its uniform microstructure, this fine-grained powder steel offers consistent, good properties: durable, reliable, highly corrosion-resistant, tough, and hard even with finely ground cutting edges. A good and versatile steel for premium knives and tools.
