DETAILS
The Dark Elven Shadow Blade from Epic Armoury is a latex-hybrid slashing shortsword for the ruthless Dark Elf or the villainous rogue. The sword measures 60 cm long from tip to pommel, with a curved, single-edged blade. The detailed crossguard features golden detailing and a sculpted grip, allowing for optimal maneuverability and comfort in the hand. The handle is cast and painted to resemble blackened bone, while the sleek and lethal blade is painted metallic black.
With a dark and dangerous appearance, this Dark Elven Shadow Blade is our highest-quality piece of equipment due to its impressive durability and detail. The blade is made of closed-cell foam around a fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, while the handle is made of polyurethane foam, allowing for greater detail and zero maintenance. This hybrid sword model will give you confidence in the safety and appeal of your weapon on the battlefield.
INSPIRATION
- Inspired by the Shamshir or Cimitar weapons of the Middle East
- The dark elves were first mentioned in Norse mythology as the “Dökkálfar” or “Svartálfar” written in the Prose Edda in the 13th century.
- They were also known as "Drow" in the Dungeons & Dragons universe , popularized by RA The Dark Elf trilogy .

Maintenance
The handle of this hybrid weapon requires no special maintenance, while the blade has a latex coating that requires some care. For this purpose, we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armory Maintenance Silicone is an easy-to-use spray that is 100% pure and acid-free, making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone regularly, taking care not to spray the handle by first wrapping it in plastic wrap. This maintains the flexibility of the latex layer and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product resistant to wear and tear.
Store your firearm flat or on its pommel, NEVER on its tip. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface and prevent your firearm from sticking to other materials. Keep your firearm in a cool, dry environment.
