DETAILS
Gothic gorget and collar by Epic Armoury. The shoulders are fully articulated and designed to provide protection to the throat, neck, and shoulders while minimizing the exposure of weak points. The armor is a four-piece set: a two-piece gorget and two pauldrons. The gorget covers from the thorax to the sternum and is provided with several ridges and two large octagonal besagues (round metal shields) to protect the armpits, notoriously weak points in armor, from arrow attacks. The two parts are joined with premium vegetable-tanned leather straps. The gorget also includes attachments for the shoulders. The shoulders consist of articulated pauldrons that cover the shoulder joint and the upper arms, reinforced with large pauldrons sculpted to look like dragon wings to further protect the armpits. The shoulder plates are fastened with straps to the gorget and around the upper arms.
The Gothic arm protection is made of mild steel with rolled edges that form ridges around the borders. The design is historically inspired by the Renaissance, but the style and functionality are fully interchangeable with other Epic Armoury armor, allowing for the freedom to mix armor and customize a character's appearance to fit your needs.
The price is for one neck plate and one pair of shoulders.
Available in medium/large size.

Maintenance
Epic Armoury Metal Works products should be treated with quality acid-free vegetable wax or oil and stored in a dry place. Metal armor containing leather parts would require separate maintenance for the leather. Read the "Leather straps and accessories" section below for leather cleaning and maintenance with leather care products.
Degreasing and preparing your armor for use
When you open your armor, you may be overwhelmed by the smell of grease and oil. Oil has been applied to protect your armor during storage and transport. Use a degreasing product or mineral spirits and a dry cloth or paper towels to remove all oil from the plate armor pieces. It is slightly more difficult to remove all the oil from chainmail links, but it can be done in the same way. Wipe off as much as you can with a dry cloth, and with the remaining oil, you can remove the grease from the chainmail with mineral spirits or another solvent by spraying it onto the links. You can also choose to completely submerge your chainmail in a degreasing product and use your hands to agitate the metal in the solution; this will completely remove all oil and grease from your links. After removing the oil, be sure to dry the armor well. Strong, warm sunlight is great for drying your armor, but you can also use a hairdryer or heat gun to speed up the process. Be careful not to overheat any leather pieces when using a heat gun.
Cleaning
Moisture is the enemy of armor and chainmail. If your armor gets wet, it is important to dry it thoroughly as soon as possible. After handling, wearing, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped clean with a clean cloth. Lightly oil the clean surface with a quality acid-free vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a layer of wax to the entire exposed metal surface. Allow the wax to dry for a couple of hours and then buff it lightly with a soft cloth.
Prevention and removal of rust
Store your armor in a dry place and check it every two months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a slightly abrasive pad dampened with wax or quality acid-free vegetable oil. Epic Dark products are specially treated to resist rust, but they should still be treated with oil and stored in a dry place.
Leather straps and accessories
Clean them by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then rub gently with leather soap and a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean off any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe any remaining water from the leather.
You should always condition the leather after cleaning, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping it down with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
