Battleworn Falcata
DescripciónBARBARIAN TERRITORY
The 85 cm Battleworn Falcata by Epic Armoury is a single-edged, medium-sized latex sword inspired by weapons used by ancient Iberian mercenaries. The 66 cm blade is designed to act as both an axe head and a thrusting sword, delivering powerful blows while simultaneously stabbing and striking with the best of them. The Falcata is handmade and hand-painted to look like real steel, wood, and gold ornamentation, but as with our other Battleworn weapons, details and paint effects have been added to make this sword look used and battered. The 10 cm grip at the end of the Falcata is realistically molded and hooked around the hand, much like the traditional weapon.
The blade is made of durable closed-cell foam around a solid 8 mm fiberglass core, built to keep you safe! It is finished with a strong layer of latex. The grip is made of maintenance-free polyurethane, which means you will enjoy using this sword in your LARP game for many seasons.
A typical weapon of the Celtic mercenaries of southwestern Europe, this sword is ideal for barbarian and savage characters. Since it is also similar to curved Greek and Egyptian weapons, it can also be used by war veterans from exotic places looking to start a new life as adventurers.HISTORY

Maintenance
The polyurethane handle of this hybrid weapon does not require any special maintenance. The leather wrapped around the grip requires care.
Leather grip care
Natural leather products are very durable, but require regular maintenance with leather care products to remain flexible and increase their service life. Ensure your leather products are kept dry when storing them. Allow wet leather to dry naturally before treating it. If it gets wet and dry frequently, increase the frequency of maintenance.
Cleaning
Clean by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently rub leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove soap with a separate damp cloth to clear away any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe remaining water from the leather.
Conditioning
You should always condition the leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have stripped away some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax in circles into the leather. Allow the leather to soak up the oil before wiping it off with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
Latex blade care
The blade of this LARP weapon has a latex coating that needs some degree of maintenance. For this, we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armoury Maintenance Silicone is an easy-to-apply spray, 100% pure and acid-free, making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone on a regular basis, taking care not to apply the spray to the handle by wrapping it in cling film first. It maintains the flexibility of the latex layer and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product resistant to wear and tear.
Storage
Store your weapon horizontally or on its pommel, NEVER on its tip. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface to avoid your weapon sticking to other products. Keep your weapon in a cool, dry environment.
