2019 Model with stonewashed finish
Cold Steel®'s AK-47® folding knife series has set the standard for heavy-duty tactical pocket knives. These robust pocket knives are highly popular among military personnel and special forces and have already been used in various crisis zones around the world. As Cold Steel® began working on the design of a new fixed-blade, multi-purpose, military-grade field knife, they kept returning to the AK-47®.
The AK-47® Field Knife was designed by Andrew Demko and is incredibly stable. It has been expertly crafted from CPM 3V carbon steel and features a stonewashed finish from the tip of its powerful saber-ground clip point blade, through the full tang, to the pommel. The result is an incredibly durable surface.
2019 Model - the AK-47® Field Knife with stonewashed finish replaces the previous DLC-coated model, CST-14AKVG, which is no longer in production.
The AK-47® comes with a versatile Secure-Ex® sheath and is the ideal companion for today's military personnel.
CPM 3V Steel
Blades made from American CPM 3V steel can be given extremely fine edges, which are also highly resistant to chipping. Despite its considerable price, this steel has enjoyed growing popularity among knife makers in recent years. This modern tool steel is surprisingly tough and extremely wear-resistant. It is a fine-grained powder steel. With its very uniform microstructure, it offers first-class impact resistance and great edge retention even with very fine cutting edges. It is a perfect steel for larger blades where extreme durability is required.
