DETAILS
The Epic Armoury Boot Knife is a straight throwing knife with a minimalist brass crossguard. This 10-inch knife has a 5-inch double-edged straight blade with an extra edge. The 3.5-inch handle is hand-painted and sculpted to resemble wood with two small nails.
Made to complement most Epic Armoury products, the Boot Throwing Knife blends well with both high and low fantasy genres without altering the overall style and feel of your costume. Made from durable, coreless, closed-cell foam and finished with a heavy-duty latex coating, you can rest assured that this throwing knife will provide the safety and appeal you desire when building your kit.
HISTORY
- Designed to resemble a “balanced knife,” the one preferred by most Western traditions
- Knife throwing was first used in martial arts and hunting before it became a sport.
- Throwing a knife has always been considered a risk in martial arts, because a failed attack would leave you weaponless while you arm your attacker.
- A groove running the entire length of the blade was added to the weapons to lighten the blade while adding structural strength.

All latex-coated weapons require a certain level of maintenance. For this purpose, we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armory Maintenance Silicone is an easy-to-use spray that is 100% pure and acid-free, making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone regularly. It maintains the flexibility of the latex layer and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product resistant to wear and tear.
Store your latex guns horizontally or on their pommel, NEVER on their tip. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent them from touching a plastic or rubber surface and prevent your gun from sticking to other products. Keep your guns in a cool, dry environment.
