Roman legionary cingulum - Leather and tinned brass
Military distinction in 1st-century Rome
During the second half of the 1st century AD, the cingulum militare was part of the Roman legionary's equipment, serving both as a belt and as an element of military identity. This replica is inspired by a piece preserved in the Roman-Germanic Central Museum in Mainz and reproduces its plates, medallions, pendants, and pugio mounts.

The belt is made of durable brown leather with decorative tinned brass fittings. Its interior incorporates a suede lining to prevent the rivets from rubbing against the tunic, while the front strips can be slid or removed individually. It includes a leather cord to attach a dagger to the movable mounts.
