Having secured these four extraordinary singers for a joint production is something very special. They unearthed gems from the great treasure trove of Hälsingland melodies and, to select the pieces, the four of them intensely examined old records and archival recordings. In particular, the performances of Karin Grelsson, Agnes Gårder, and Katarina Lundstedt left a great impression.
All of this was performed in their own style, with a traditional and modern orientation. - As the CD title suggests, the album contains an exciting repertoire: among other things, film music and electronic sounds intertwined with Hälsingland melodies. An equally unusual combination can only be found in old songbooks, where hits are placed alongside psalms, medieval ballads, drinking songs, and moral songs.
