Illuminate Bracers
DescriptionThe elven army is incredibly dangerous, as every member has trained for longer than most mortals have been alive. You are a member of that army. Clad in matching armour, you stand firm with your near-identical kin, your Illuminate Helmet standing like a crown thanks to its spiked crest.
There is no fear on your face as your Lady sits atop her stag and watches the orcs before you. The orcs gather in their chaos, and their numbers far exceed yours. But still you do not fear, for each elf is worth at least ten enemies.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury's Illuminate Bracers are a style of bracers inspired by fantasy elven warriors. Designed to act as arm guards during combat, the Illuminate bracers are elegant and sleek, as well as functional. The overlapping welded plates along the arms also provide some flexibility for rotating the body. Enjoy this user-friendly design, which demands attention on the battlefield with details like the spiked crest and curved lines.
This high-fantasy armour is secured by tightening the leather straps around your wrists. Made of 1 mm thick mild steel and top-grain leather straps and accessories, this piece of armour is finished with a brass coating that gives it a particularly majestic appearance. With regular leather and metal armour care, it will last for many seasons.
Available in Small/Medium and Large/X-Large sizes.

Maintenance
Epic Armoury metalwork products should be treated with acid-free quality vegetable wax or oil and stored in a dry place. Metal armour containing leather parts would need separate maintenance for the leather. Read the "Leather Straps and Accessories" section below for leather cleaning and maintenance with leather care products.
Degreasing and preparing your armour for use
When you open your armour, you might be overwhelmed by the smell of grease and oil. The oil has been applied to protect your armour during storage and transport. Use a degreasing product or mineral spirits and a dry cloth or paper towels to remove all the oil from the plate armour pieces. It is a bit harder to remove all the oil from chainmail links, but it can be done in the same way. Wipe off as much as you can with a dry cloth, and with the remaining oil, you can remove the grease from the chainmail with mineral spirits or another solvent by spraying it onto the links. You can also choose to fully submerge your chainmail in a degreasing product and use your hands to agitate the metal in the solution, this will completely remove all oil and grease from your links. After removing the oil, be sure to dry the armour well. Strong, warm sunlight is great for drying your armour, but you can also use a hair dryer or heat gun to speed up the process. Be careful not to overheat any leather parts when using a heat gun.
Cleaning
Humidity is the enemy of armour and chainmail. If your armour gets wet, it is important that you dry it thoroughly as soon as possible. After handling it, wearing it, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped down with a clean cloth. Lightly grease the clean surface with an acid-free quality vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a coat of wax to the entire surface of the exposed metal. Let the wax dry for a couple of hours and then lightly buff it with a soft cloth.
Prevention and removal of rust
Store your armour in a dry place and check it every couple of months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a lightly abrasive pad dampened in acid-free quality vegetable wax or oil. Epic Dark products are specially treated to resist rust, but they should still be treated with oil and kept in a dry place.
Leather straps and accessories
Clean them by removing dirt with a hard brush, then gently rub with leather soap and a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean off any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe any remaining water off the leather.
You should always condition the leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Let the leather soak in the oil before wiping it down with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
