Speyside is the region along the River Spey in Scotland. Around 50 distilleries produce whiskies here with very special characteristics. They are smooth, rounded, and fine, and rarely lightly peated. Speyside is home to world-famous distilleries such as Aberlour, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Glen Grant, and Macallan. Whisky cask no. 169, filled in 2009, comes from one of these distilleries, where the whisky had to mature for 13 years until we selected it to bottle the second high-quality whisky for our exclusive Einherjer Edition bottling.

Whisky is a beer with its origins in distillation, so it is no surprise that many brewers also have a passion for the distilled juice of barley. In the Einherjer Edition, the brewers at Wacken Brewery have gathered an excellent selection of premium single malts bottled exclusively for Wacken Brewery.
This Speyside single malt is deliberately not chill-filtered. To avoid excessive cloudiness, it was reduced to 46% ABV alcohol. Therefore, the whisky has a particularly intense flavor.
