Viking Dress, Tinna Apron, Wine Red SIZE S/M

Gift Viking Dress, Tinna Apron, Wine Red

Viking overdress Tinna, wine red

Apron dresses were an integral part of Viking attire. Basically, these overdresses were characterized by their shoulder straps and simple tube shape. These dresses were available with slits, with so-called geren (fabric wedges), with pleats, and in variants that overlapped in the center of the front. The hem ended at calf length.

The pinafore of the Viking Age (also known as a pinafore, hangerock, or smokkr) had two different functions. While the simple version was worn as an apron to protect the clothing, the decorated version was more of a status symbol and was adorned with braids, embroidery, chains, and brooches. This form of dress is historically documented by finds from Haithabu and depictions from Birka.

Our solid-colored pinafore dress is made of sturdy canvas (100% cotton) and is therefore very durable. It has a loose cut, side lacing, and is simple.

The apron dress should be combined with an understated underdress and a belt. With the right accessories, you can create a harmonious Norse outfit for a maiden or shield-maiden.

Details:

- Available sizes: S/M, L/XL, XXL

- Color: wine red (also available: green, mustard yellow, brown)

- Material: 100% cotton

- Total length for size S/M: approx. 120 cm (measured from the highest point of the shoulder)

- Care instructions: machine wash at 40°C, gentle cycle, do not tumble dry

How to find the right size:

- To determine your clothing size based on your body measurements, measure horizontally at the widest point.

- For dresses, use your chest measurement as a guide.

- If you are between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.

- Extra comfort is included in the cut.

Please note:

Only the overdress is sold here! The long-sleeved dress and other accessories are available separately in our online shop.
