CQ Ratio Torso
DescriptionThe Ratio was never defeated, and you are a testament to that claim.
A servant of Ratio, you are a Kan soldier of the Army of Doubt. The Mirror World is your home and your duty is to stand guard on behalf of the Primordial Skeptics, the very beings a great host of settlers seeks to destroy. As the backbone of the army, you will face these enemies on the battlefield. They will learn to fear you.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury's Ratio Torso is an Asian-inspired lamellar cuirass designed to protect the upper body. Offering excellent protection and great mobility, this armor also features a luxurious design, a scaly appearance, and a rustic, shimmering look. The front is made of overlapping steel panels stitched with premium leather cords, while the back is protected by thick leather. Secure this cuirass by tightening the heavy leather straps at the shoulders, adjusting them further with two straps on the sides for a perfect fit.
The Ratio Torso is fully usable with other Epic Armoury metal products, giving you the freedom to customize your character's costume. Made of 1 mm thick galvanized mild steel and premium leather straps and fittings, this piece of armor is designed to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment with the usual care for leather and metal armor.
Available in medium/large size.

Maintenance
Epic Armoury metalwork products should be treated with quality acid-free vegetable oil or wax and stored in a dry place. Metal armors containing leather parts would need separate maintenance for the leather. Read the "Leather Straps and Fittings" section below for leather cleaning and care with leather care products.
Degreasing and preparing your armor for use
When you open your armor, you might be overwhelmed by the smell of grease and oil. The oil has been applied to protect your armor during storage and transport. Use a degreasing product or mineral spirits and a dry cloth or paper towels to remove all oil from the plate armor pieces. It is a bit more difficult to remove all oil from chainmail links, but it can be done in the same way. Wipe off as much as you can with a dry cloth, and with the remaining oil, you can remove the grease from the chainmail with mineral spirits or another solvent by spraying it on the links. You can also choose to completely submerge your chainmail in a degreasing product and use your hands to agitate the metal in the solution; this will completely remove all oil and grease from your links. After removing the oil, be sure to dry the armor well. Strong, warm sunlight is great for drying your armor, but you can also use a hair dryer or a heat gun to speed up the process. Be careful not to overheat any leather parts when using a heat gun.
Cleaning
Humidity is the enemy of armor and chainmail. If your armor gets wet, it is important that you dry it thoroughly as soon as possible. After handling, wearing, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped clean with a clean cloth. Lightly oil the clean surface with a quality acid-free vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a layer of wax to the entire exposed metal surface. Let the wax dry for a couple of hours and then lightly buff it with a soft cloth.
Prevention and removal of rust
Store your armor in a dry place and check it every two months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a lightly abrasive pad dampened in acid-free vegetable oil or wax. Epic Dark products are specially treated to resist rust but should still be treated with oil and stored in a dry place.
Leather straps and fittings
Clean them by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently rub with leather soap and a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean off any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe any remaining water off the leather.
You should always condition the leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Let the leather soak in the oil before wiping it down with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
