Tanto - 40 cm

Description

The finest blades are forged by the most skilled blacksmiths, the metal worked with such precision and care that the edge can cut through flesh so cleanly that a person doesn't even know they are dead.

You have commissioned a blacksmith to craft you a Tanto. Before you pay them, you want to be sure it is a properly made blade, so you perform a test. You produce a silk sheet, allowing it to descend lightly onto the edge of the Tanto. The blade slices through it cleanly, not snagging a single thread.

The blade is perfect.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury's Tanto is one of the smallest latex weapons in the Asian Universe collection. Inspired by a historical weapon of Japan, the Tanto fits perfectly with a samurai's set of swords. The 26 cm weapon is straight with a single edge and meets a small oval crossguard that protects the 10 cm handle wrapped in split leather.

Made from durable closed-cell foam around a fiberglass core and finished with a strong latex coating, you can be sure that your LARP weapon will provide the safety and appeal you desire when creating your Asian-inspired kit.

HISTORY

  • Traditionally used by samurai of feudal Japan
  • Designed to be drawn quickly from the sheath to suit combat requiring fast response times
  • Paired with a katana or wakizashi by samurai to show social power and personal honor

Quality

  • Resistant latex coating with a round fiberglass core
  • Strong Kevlar core tip protection
  • Made from durable closed-cell foam that does not shred
  • High safety, approved by leading organizations

This product is handmade and hand-painted and is therefore unique. As a result, compared to similar item numbers, this product may have natural deviations in pattern, color, and shape, which are not considered defects or faults.
We produce our image material in a natural environment, where lighting and surroundings may affect colors and contrast. Therefore, the displayed images may appear different from the product you receive from us.

Measurements are all in cm unless otherwise stated.

Maintenance

All latex-coated weapons need a certain degree of maintenance. For this, we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armoury Maintenance Silicone is an easy-to-use spray application, 100% pure and acid-free, making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone on a regular basis. It maintains the flexibility of the latex layer and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product resistant to wear and tear.

Store your latex weapons horizontally or on their pommel, NEVER on their tip. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface to avoid your weapon sticking to other products. Keep your weapons in a cool, dry environment.
