Vendel Spangenhelm with chainmail aventail - Viking helmet
An Early Medieval helmet inspired by the Vendel period
The Vendel Spangenhelm is inspired by helmets from the Vendel period, an era preceding the Viking Age, with the Valsgärde findings serving as a reference for this reconstruction. The crown is formed by two pieces of approx. 1.6 mm steel sheet, reinforced with riveted iron bands. The hand-crafted spectacles descend below the nose, while the spring steel ring aventail completes its historical silhouette.
