You board the merchant ship with your cutlass ready. They've heard of your flag before, so they'll cleverly surrender. Good. This will be an easy haul! You and your crew pack up all the loot you can find before a Royal Navy ship arrives, but as you pass the wretched captain, you notice his tricorn hat. The hat is your share of the profits, simply by ripping off the man's head.
It also makes an excellent pirate hat.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury's "Tricorn" Pirate Hat is handcrafted with quality full-grain leather and heavy-duty stitching, trimmed with cotton canvas and leather lacing around the brim. Inspired by popular 18th-century hats of the era, its brim is turned up and pinned to form a triangle around the crown with leather lacing. With regular leather care, you can expect this hat to add a special touch to your gear for a long time!
Available in brown and black, and in sizes small, medium/large, and extra-large.
HISTORY
- Known as “tricorne” or “three-cornered hat”
- Popular in the late 17th century as a civilian and military uniform.
- It is normally worn with the point forward, although soldiers often wear it pointed above the left eyebrow to allow the rifle to rest on the shoulder.

Maintenance
Natural leather products are very durable, but they require regular maintenance with leather care products to stay supple and increase their lifespan. Make sure your leather products stay dry when stored. Let wet leather dry naturally before treating it. If it frequently gets wet and dries, increase the frequency of maintenance.
Cleaning
Clean by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently rub leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean any soap residue, and then use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water from the leather.
Conditioning
You should always condition leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping it with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
