Among the mists of the north, where the forest was both refuge and battlefield, the Seax —or Sax— was the faithful companion of the Germanic peoples. Used by Saxons, Franks, and other tribal clans of the Early Middle Ages, this knife served not only as a weapon of defense, but as an essential tool for daily life, in camps, on the road, and in the home.
Forged with Tradition, Assembled with Nobility
This short Seax is a reconstruction inspired by archaeological finds and historical sources. Its steel blade offers a robust and functional shape, while its grip combines natural materials like bone, horn, and steel in a handcrafted synthesis of great beauty. The bone handle capped in steel, together with a guard of metal discs and a decorative horn plate, reflects the mastery of ancient Germanic blacksmiths.
This Seax includes a brown leather sheath, durable and ready to hang proudly from your belt. Each specimen is slightly different, as the grain of the bone varies, giving each knife a unique identity. A version with a horn handle is also available, ideal for those who wish to complete their collection with historical variants.
