This wearable and fully articulated replica of late medieval plate leg armor protects the thighs down to approximately below the knees and features the multi-layered design typical of late medieval Gothic plate armor (15th/16th century). It is crafted from 1.6 mm (16 gauge) steel and blackened on the inside for better corrosion protection.
The leg defenses consist of poleyns (or knee cops), cuisses, and short greaves. Mobility is ensured by a sliding rivet construction, in which the individual overlapping elements are connected to each other by sturdy steel rivets. The cuisses are flanged and the poleyns are equipped with slightly inward-curved, flower-shaped steel side discs, which are riveted to the sides.
Three adjustable, approximately 3 mm thick leather straps with brass buckles are riveted to the back. This allows for easy individual size adjustment.
These articulated leg guards are equally suitable for medieval reenactment, LARP, stage, TV/film, and costume. They are ideal for late medieval and Renaissance settings and will simply perfect your transformation into a proud and noble knight or warrior!
This is a pair, so it provides protection for both legs.
