Captain Arm Protection
DescriptionA FORTIFIED REACH!
"The impossible happened. Without a doubt, the assassin did not strike as planned, but it was the right moment when both officers concluded the parlay in the open field. The crossbow bolt was launched through the air only to deflect off our captain's arm protection. Our captain remained faceless and simply kept his hand presented to offer stoically. The other officer accepted with no little respect. We all watched the display in astonishment.”
The Captain Arm Protection is an essential part of the Captain Armor Complete Set, available in glorious polished steel and somber Epic Dark and designed to emphasize servitude and privilege. It is equipped with leather straps to ensure a snug and comfortable fit that will come in handy when participating in war skirmishes.
The Captain Arm Protection is part of the Captain Armor Complete Set and is therefore designed to be combined with the Captain Cuirass, Captain Pauldrons, Captain Gorget, Captain Leg Protection and Captain Belt Shields.

Maintenance
Epic Armoury metalworks products must be treated with acid-free quality wax or vegetable oil and stored in a dry place. Metal armor that contains leather parts would need separate maintenance for the leather. Read the "Leather straps and accessories" section below for leather cleaning and maintenance with leather care products.
Degreasing and preparing your armor for use
When you open your armor, you may be overwhelmed by the smell of grease and oil. Oil has been applied to protect your armor during storage and transport. Use a degreasing product or mineral spirits and a dry cloth or paper towels to remove all oil from the plate armor pieces. It is slightly more difficult to remove all the oil from chainmail links, but it can be done in the same way. Wipe off as much as you can with a dry cloth, and with the remaining oil, you can remove the grease from the chainmail with mineral spirits or another solvent by spraying it onto the links. You can also choose to submerge your chainmail completely in a degreasing product and use your hands to agitate the metal in the solution, this will completely remove all oil and grease from your links. After removing the oil, make sure to dry the armor well. Strong, warm sunlight is great for drying your armor, but you can also use a hairdryer or a heat gun to speed up the process. Be careful not to overheat any leather pieces when using a heat gun.
Cleaning
Humidity is the enemy of armor and chainmail. If your armor gets wet, it is important that you dry it well as soon as possible. After handling, wearing, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped clean with a clean cloth. Lightly oil the clean surface with an acid-free quality vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a coat of wax to the entire exposed metal surface. Let the wax dry for a couple of hours and then buff it lightly with a soft cloth.
Prevention and rust removal
Store your armor in a dry place and check it every two months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a lightly abrasive pad dampened in acid-free quality wax or vegetable oil. Epic Dark products are specially treated to resist rust, but should still be treated with oil and stored in a dry place.
Leather straps and accessories
Clean them by removing dirt with a hard brush, then gently rub with leather soap and a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean off any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe the remaining water from the leather.
You should always condition the leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax in circles into the leather. Let the leather soak in the oil before wiping it off with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
