The color of the North Sea: the garment of the navigator who defied the Atlantic and the Arctic
Dark blue was the color of the horizon that Viking navigators gazed at from the bows of their drakkars between the 8th and 11th centuries AD. From the coasts of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, they set out into the North Sea, the Atlantic, and the Arctic, reaching Iceland, Greenland, and even the shores of America centuries before any other European. The Olaf Rus Pants in dark blue evoke that seafaring spirit with a durable and comfortable 100% cotton twill fabric, featuring the characteristic baggy cut that tapers below the knee. The tight-fitting lower section can be covered with calf wraps (available separately). The wide waistband with an adjustable drawstring, side pockets, and hem slits ensure freedom of movement both on deck and on land.
