DETAILS
This best-selling armor set includes Black Ice Shoulder Plates and Gorget, Arm and Leg Protection, Tabard, and a belt to fully cover your costume needs at a lower cost. Each piece of armor is made of mild steel with rolled edges and premium leather straps and fittings, designed to withstand the abuse of a LARP or reenactment while keeping the wearer safe and comfortable. With regular care for leather and metal armor, you can expect this armor set to last a long time!
Gorget & Shoulder Plates
This fully articulated armor is designed to provide protection for the throat, neck, and shoulders while allowing freedom of movement. The armor is a four-piece set: a two-piece gorget and two shoulder pauldrons. The gorget covers from the chest to the sternum. The two parts are joined with premium vegetable-tanned leather straps. The gorget also includes attachments for the shoulders. The shoulders are composed of articulated pauldrons that cover the shoulder and the upper arms and are shaped to deflect blows away from the neck and head. The shoulder plates are attached to the breastplate.
Arm & Leg Protection
Black Ice Arm and leg protection. Leg protection is essential for anyone wishing to experience the battlefield. Due to the austere style of these bracers and greaves, this package is a particularly suitable armor solution for a dark and serious character with ill intentions. Two premium leather straps are used to keep each piece in place.
Tabard
The Epic Armoury Black Ice Tabard is a sleeveless, open-sided garment worn over any outfit or armor set, often with a belt. This particular tabard is a sleek blue-violet color with black trim. Whether you are a one-man army wishing to stand out, or you are in a unit of soldiers and want to blend in, you will look full of style, class, and distinction when wearing the Black Ice Tabard.
Belt
A premium black leather belt with a brass buckle and studs, designed to be worn over the Black Ice Tabard.

Maintenance
Epic Armory Metal Works products should be treated with quality wax or acid-free vegetable oil and stored in a dry place. Metal armor containing leather parts would require separate maintenance for the leather. Read the "Leather straps and fittings" section below for leather cleaning and maintenance with leather care products.
Degreasing and preparing your armor for use
When you open your armor, you may be overwhelmed by the smell of grease and oil. Oil has been applied to protect your armor during storage and transport. Use a degreasing product or mineral spirits and a dry cloth or paper towels to remove all oil from the plate armor pieces. It is a bit more difficult to remove all oil from chainmail links, but it can be done in the same way. Wipe off as much as you can with a dry cloth, and with the remaining oil, you can remove the grease from the chainmail with mineral spirits or another solvent by spraying it onto the links. You can also choose to completely submerge your chainmail in a degreasing product and use your hands to agitate the metal in the solution; this will completely remove all oil and grease from your links. After removing the oil, be sure to dry the armor thoroughly. Intense, warm sunlight is great for drying your armor, but you can also use a hairdryer or a heat gun to speed up the process. Be careful not to overheat any leather parts when using a heat gun.
Cleaning
Moisture is the enemy of armor and chainmail. If your armor gets wet, it is important that you dry it thoroughly as soon as possible. After handling, wearing, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped down with a clean cloth. Lightly grease the clean surface with a quality acid-free vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a coat of wax to the entire exposed metal surface. Let the wax dry for a couple of hours and then lightly buff it with a soft cloth.
Prevention and removal of rust
Store your armor in a dry place and check it every two months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a lightly abrasive pad dampened with wax or quality acid-free vegetable oil. Epic Dark products are specially treated to resist rust, but they should still be treated with oil and stored in a dry place.
Leather straps and fittings
Clean them by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently rub with leather soap and a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clean off any soap residue, and then use a dry cloth to wipe any remaining water from the leather.
You should always condition the leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping it down with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
