Multitools are often equipped with a large number of individual tools, many of which are actually only of limited use. The worst part is the fact that many of these multitools only give secondary importance to the essential knife blade, which means it is often barely usable. Not with the Select Fire.
When designing the Select Fire multitool, the focus was on its function as a knife. In terms of structure, the knife blade, which can be opened manually, is the central element. And this blade does a good job. Being made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, it is robust and has high edge retention. It was also glass bead-blasted, which gives it a matte surface that is less susceptible to dirt. As if that were not enough, the Select Fire offers an incredibly comfortable handle that ensures safe handling, something that unfortunately cannot be said of many multifunctional tools.
The Grant & Gavin Hawk Select Fire is also a practical multitool. The equipment includes a set of 4 screwdriver bits (bits) including a fold-out bit holder. The inserts (two flathead screwdriver bits and two Phillips screwdriver bits) are housed in two small magazines integrated into the handle, which can be easily opened and snapped back into place after the appropriate bit has been removed. The black circuit boards complete the elegant overall look. Whether you use the Select Fire as a pocket knife or a screwdriver, the contoured handle made of glass-fiber reinforced nylon is equally comfortable to hold.
