The Espada series is the result of the collaboration between knife maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel President Lynn C. Thompson. This collection is the perfect fusion of Demko's ingenious technical talent and Thompson's extensive knowledge of edged weapons and tools.
These huge and highly efficient folding knives are available in two different sizes: for the brave and the bravest, yet they remain surprisingly light to carry. They have been expertly designed to fit comfortably in your pocket and you will soon forget that you are carrying such a large and impressive blade.
Thanks to the thumb plate patented by Demko, the Espada knives can be opened on the hem of the pocket directly when taken out of the pocket and are therefore ready to use in no time!
The beautiful blades are made of high-quality AUS 10A steel. This super steel was deliberately selected: the edges can be polished to be extremely fine, yet still remain sharp for a long time.
To protect you against this sharp blade, each Espada is equipped with Cold Steel's patented Tri-Ad® locking mechanism. This lock has proven to be surprisingly shock-resistant and solid. It is practically impossible for the blade to close on your hand. During Cold Steel's famous hardness and load tests, the XL Espada was able to easily withstand not only a free weight of 272 kg (600 lbs.), but also a suspended engine block!
