Illuminate Tassets
DescriptionThe elf army is incredibly dangerous, as all its members have trained for longer than most mortals have been alive. You are a member of that army. Clad in matching armor, you stand firm with your near-identical kin, your Illuminate Helmet like a crown thanks to its pointed crest.
There is no fear on your face as your Lady sits upon her stag and watches the orcs before you. The orcs gather in their chaos, and their numbers far exceed your own. But still, fear not, for each elf is worth at least ten enemies.
DETAILS
Epic Armoury's Illuminate Tassets are a style of tassets inspired by fantasy elf warriors. Designed to protect the side of the waist and hips during combat, the Illuminate Tassets are stylized and elegant, as well as functional. Enjoy this easy-to-use design, which demands attention on the battlefield with details like the pointed crest and curved lines.

Maintenance
Epic Armoury Metal Works products should be treated with quality acid-free vegetable wax or oil and kept in dry storage. Metal armor containing leather parts would need separate maintenance for the leather. Read the "Leather Straps and Fittings" section below for leather cleaning and maintenance with leather care products.
Degreasing and preparing your armor for use
When you open your armor, you may be overwhelmed by the smell of grease and oil. The oil has been applied to protect your armor during storage and transport. Use a degreasing product or mineral spirits and a dry cloth or paper towels to remove all oil from the plate armor pieces. It is slightly more difficult to remove all oil from chainmail links, but it can be done the same way. Wipe off as much as you can with a dry cloth, and with the remaining oil, you can remove grease from the chainmail with mineral spirits or another solvent by spraying it onto the links. You can also choose to completely submerge your chainmail in a degreasing product and use your hands to agitate the metal in the solution; this will completely remove all oil and grease from your links. After removing the oil, be sure to dry the armor well. Strong, warm sunlight is excellent for drying your armor, but you can also use a hairdryer or heat gun to speed up the process. Be careful not to overheat any leather parts when using a heat gun.
Cleaning
Humidity is the enemy of armor and chainmail. If your armor gets wet, it is important that you dry it well as soon as possible. After handling, wearing, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped down with a clean cloth. Lightly oil the clean surface with a quality acid-free vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a coat of wax to the entire surface of the exposed metal. Let the wax dry for a couple of hours and then lightly buff it with a soft cloth.
Rust prevention and removal
Store your armor in a dry place and check it every two months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a lightly abrasive pad dampened with quality acid-free vegetable wax or oil. Epic Dark products are specially treated to resist rust, but should still be treated with oil and stored in a dry place.
Leather straps and fittings
Clean them by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently rub with leather soap and a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clear away any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe the remaining water off the leather.
You should always condition the leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax using a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Allow the leather to soak in the oil before wiping it down with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
