The Extrema Ratio Misericordia Desert retains all the features of the famous Misericordia, a model from the 4th Alpini Paratrooper Regiment, and is derived from the commemorative dagger issued for the 140th anniversary of the 4th Alpini Regiment and the 70th anniversary of the Alpini paratroopers. It is a tactical fixed-blade knife intended for situations where a knife must be extremely light and compact. The new desert color gives this model a new hue that better adapts to the needs of the most modern operational units. The blade is milled from Böhler N690 steel, heat-treated to 58 HRC, 118 mm long, and 4 mm thick with a flat grind. The knife weighs only 87 g (3.1 oz). The blade has a spear-point profile with a fuller that makes it even lighter, and a false edge for ¾ of its length. The surface has a stone-washed finish. The knife has a polymer handle that flows smoothly toward the ring topped by a pommel disc that allows for the application of martial arts techniques and ensures a very solid grip on the knife. It has the classic Extrema Ratio groove near the front which allows for better grip and is fixed to the tang with a screw. In this version, the handle is in desert colors. As it is a knife designed and intended for professional use, great importance has been placed on ease of transport, access, and extraction when necessary. The knife is secured to the sheath with a quick-release lock that can be easily reversed for left-handed use. The highly durable nylon sheath also features a desert look and is very versatile; two adjustable loops allow for connection to M.O.L.L.E. systems, allowing for quick extraction in a tactical scenario.
