Enjoy the Saxon Sword with Scabbard
Saxon sword with scabbard
Several original specimens preserved (or partially preserved) from the 5th and 6th centuries AD (Migration Period) served as the model for this beautiful reconstruction of a single-handed Saxon sword.
In terms of its design, this single-handed sword is a classic example of an Early Middle Ages Germanic weapon.
It has a wooden handle, a short and strong crossguard, a generous pommel, and a wide, straight, double-edged blade made of EN45 spring steel with a wide, long fuller. The cutting edges are not sharpened, and the full-tang blade is screwed to the end of the handle.
As is the case with many originals from this period, the pommel here consists of several parts riveted together. The crossguard features the same three-part construction, consisting of a wooden middle layer between two cast brass elements, which provides beautiful contrasting accents.
This decorative and affordable single-handed sword comes with a black leather/wood scabbard with a brass mouthpiece and chape.
This sword is designed as a collector's item or decorative object and is also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume.
