Treat Yourself to the 13th Century Moonbrand Knightly Sword with Scabbard.
13th century moonbrand knightly sword with scabbard
This beautiful knightly sword is a replica of a well-preserved find dating back to the 13th century. The original was in the possession of the well-known British collector and amateur arms expert Ewart Oakeshott for 50 years. The sword served as the model for the Type XIV in his classification of medieval swords. It was also he who gave this sword the name Moonbrand. Since 2002, it has been part of the collection at the Oakeshott Institute of Arms and Armor in Minneapolis, Minnesota, founded by Oakeshott himself.
This reconstruction features a wide blade that tapers uniformly towards the tip and has fullers on both sides. The cutting edges are not sharpened, and the full-length tang of the blade is riveted to the pommel. The hilt consists of a wooden grip wrapped in light brown leather, a crossguard curved towards the blade, and a generous disc pommel. The guard and pommel are made of solid steel.
The sword comes with a brown wood/leather scabbard.
This medieval sword is designed as a collector's item or decorative object. It is also ideal as an accessory, for example, to complete your costume.
