The three gold lions on a red field are one of the most recognized royal emblems in the history of England, associated with King Richard I the Lionheart since the late 12th century. This symbol of strength, royalty, and authority appeared on shields, banners, and armor during the Crusades and major medieval battles. This 18-gauge steel shield faithfully reproduces that heraldry with three hand-painted golden lions on a red background, in the shape of a heater shield—the evolution of the kite shield that medieval knights adopted for better mobility and protection.
