The monolithic (= one-piece) knives in Cold Steel's® Monolithic Ax and Tool® series are not cheap castings, but are made from 52100 carbon steel. Drop-forged steel. For each model in the series, the solid steel body receives expert heat treatment from the tip of the sharp blade to the end of the powerful handle. For a comfortable and secure grip, each knife has an ergonomic shape and is equipped with a deep groove in the handle section. Since these knives can be easily modified or customized, they are also perfect as "project knives." If desired, handles can be retrofitted, file work and engraving can be performed, or other interesting modifications can be made for an individual design.
