Delight in the Kimen Children's Outdoor Knife, Condor
Kimen children's outdoor knife, Condor
The Kimen knife by Condor, whose name derives from the indigenous Mapudungun language of South America and can be translated roughly as to teach, to learn, was developed by survival expert Walter A. Matthews and designed with the primary goal of introducing children to the basic principles of bushcraft and survival. For added safety, this fixed-blade knife features a rounded blade tip and an ergonomically shaped handle. Furthermore, the pronounced integrated hand guard prevents fingers from slipping onto the sharp edge during use.
Of course, this compact outdoor knife is also suitable for adults, for example, as a secondary work knife for all kinds of outdoor tasks, whether camping, hiking, or even in the home garden.
The full-tang knife has a sharp drop-point blade with a nice belly. It is made of 1095 carbon steel (a durable steel with good sharpening ability) and features a Scandi grind, which is quite popular among craftsmen because it is well-suited for woodworking and also allows for easy sharpening in the field. The blade surface still shows traces of forging, giving the knife a rustic look.
The walnut handle scales are attached to the tang of the blade with 2 brass rivets. The white liners create a beautiful and discreet contrast with the darker wood tone of the scales. At the end of the handle, there is a generous hole with an inserted brass eyelet to accommodate a lanyard.
Included in the scope of delivery is a nice handmade sheath made of sturdy leather with a belt loop (maximum belt width of approx. 4.5 cm).

Please note:
Wood is a natural product, so no handle on this knife is the same. Variations in color and/or grain are quite common and the images above are for illustrative purposes only.
The steel used is also not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend taking regular care of the blade, for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
