Renegade Cuirass – Feminine
Description"Reinhard always felt uncomfortable with rules and laws. And when the corrupt nobles of his homeland began to pressure the poor, his anger erupted like a forge stoked by a blacksmith's bellows. He had killed his commanding officer, a pompous lout who spent his time as a fop, and had fled to the forest to be with his kin. As one of the few who knew how to wear and repair heavy armor, he found a new home there and still wore the cuirass he had used years ago in the king's service."
The Epic Armoury Renegade Feminine Cuirass is built from 1 mm thick mild steel and offers robust protection for the upper chest, waist, and lower back. The malleable and finely shaped breastplate is designed to ensure not only excellent defense but also to maintain mobility, accommodating the dynamic needs of the user. Designed specifically to fit the female physique, this cuirass improves comfort without compromising the protection offered. It is connected by vegetable-tanned leather to two lower back plates, historically known as "lames," which can be attached to form a cohesive unit, ensuring full coverage. Dual leather straps at the back allow for a secure and customized fit, essential for maintaining the armor's position during movement.
The Renegade Cuirass is part of the Renegade Complete Armour Set - Feminine, designed specifically for female sizes and body types. You can customize it with other Epic Armoury armor pieces to enjoy endless possibilities.

Maintenance
Epic Armoury metalwork products should be treated with acid-free quality vegetable oil or wax and kept in a dry place. Metal armor containing leather parts would require separate maintenance for the leather. Read the "Leather Straps and Fittings" section below to learn about leather cleaning and maintenance with leather care products.
Degreasing and preparing your armor for use
When you open your armor, you might be overwhelmed by the smell of grease and oil. Oil has been applied to protect your armor during storage and transport. Use a degreasing product or mineral spirits and a dry cloth or paper towels to remove all oil from the plate armor pieces. It is a bit harder to remove all oil from chainmail links, but it can be done in the same way. Wipe off as much as you can with a dry cloth, and with the remaining oil, you can remove the grease from the chainmail with mineral spirits or another solvent by spraying it onto the links. You can also choose to fully submerge your chainmail in a degreasing product and use your hands to agitate the metal in the solution; this will completely remove all oil and grease from your links. After removing the oil, make sure to dry the armor thoroughly. Strong, warm sunlight is excellent for drying your armor, but you can also use a hairdryer or a heat gun to speed up the process. Be careful not to overheat any leather parts when using a heat gun.
Cleaning
Humidity is the enemy of armor and chainmail. If your armor gets wet, it is important that you dry it thoroughly as soon as possible. After handling, wearing, or after six months of storage or display, all metal should be wiped down with a clean cloth. Lightly grease the clean surface with an acid-free quality vegetable oil. Alternatively, you can apply a coat of wax to the entire surface of the exposed metal. Let the wax dry for a couple of hours and then lightly buff it with a soft cloth.
Prevention and removal of rust
Store your armor in a dry place and check it every two months for signs of rust. If you find any, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a lightly abrasive pad dampened in acid-free quality vegetable oil or wax. Epic Dark products are specially treated to resist rust, but they should still be treated with oil and stored in a dry place.
Leather straps and fittings
Clean them by removing dirt with a stiff brush, then gently rub with leather soap and a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to clear any soap residue, and then use a dry cloth to wipe remaining water from the leather.
You should always condition the leather after cleaning it, as the soap will have removed some of its natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil, or beeswax with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil or wax into the leather in circles. Let the leather soak in the oil before wiping it down with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
