Medieval head and neck protection forged in steel
This chainmail coif with a square opening is a faithful reproduction of the medieval head armor used by knights, crusaders, and men-at-arms during the 12th–14th centuries. Used in battles such as the Crusades, Hastings (1066), and Bannockburn (1314), the mail coif was essential for protecting the head, neck, and shoulders under a helm or helmet. Its design with a square face opening offers clear visibility and a classic look from the High and Late Middle Ages.
High-strength spring steel
Handcrafted entirely from 16-gauge spring steel, this coif uses 9 mm inner diameter round rings that are butted, creating a flexible and durable mesh that defends against blunt strikes and light cuts. The high-tensile spring steel provides greater resistance to deformation than conventional mild steel. The coif extends beyond the neck, covering the shoulders and upper chest for additional defense.
