15th Century Burgundian Kettle Hat - 14-Gauge Steel Infantry Helmet with Leather Liner
The Burgundian kettle hat, also known as a "chapel-de-fer," is one of the most practical and distinctive helmets of the 15th-century European infantry. This version, popular between 1450 and 1480, evolved from earlier 13th and 14th-century helmets, featuring a scalloped brim and a deeper bowl that offered greater protection against overhead strikes, falling arrows, and cavalry blows.
