Without a doubt, this is the Master Hunter®, one of the best hunting knives Cold Steel® has ever produced. The knife is available with a blade of Japanese San Mai® steel or American CPM 3V carbon steel. In both models, the wide blade has been ground to achieve the cross-section and blade geometry ideal for hunting applications. It has also been honed to a razor's edge, allowing for effortless cutting. The drop point is ideal for skinning and dressing game. The 5 mm thick blade spine provides the strength and rigidity needed for gutting and skinning even the largest animals.
The handle allows for longer use without fatigue. It is made of shock-resistant, highly tactile Kray-Ex™ and features a deeply grooved surface that will prevent any slipping, no matter how wet or bloody your hands are. An added advantage of this material is its durability: it does not rot, shrink, crack, splinter, or mold and is completely resistant to the harshest weather conditions, always maintaining its comfort, even during prolonged use.
A sturdy Secure-Ex® sheath, suitable for almost any belt, ensures optimal protection and allows you to carry the knife effortlessly all day long.
CPM 3V Steel
Blades made of American CPM 3V steel can be given extremely fine edges, which are also very resistant to chipping. Despite its considerable price, this steel has enjoyed growing popularity among knife makers in recent years. This modern tool steel is surprisingly hard and extremely wear-resistant. It is a fine-grained powder steel. With its very uniform microstructure, it offers first-class impact resistance and great edge retention even with very fine cutting edges. It is a perfect steel for larger blades where extreme durability is required.
