Orkney whiskies are full-bodied and balanced, and also possess a distinctive salty and seaweed character. The high humidity slows down the aging process, resulting in a more balanced maturation. There are only two whisky distilleries on Orkney, Highland Park and Scapa. Whisky cask no. 13, filled in 2009, which we selected for the third release of our Einherjer edition, comes from one of these two distilleries. This single malt matured in a refill bourbon hogshead for over 13 years until we finally released it for you. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eWhisky is a spirit with origins in distillation, so it is no surprise that many brewers also feel a passion for the distilled juice of barley.
