The neckline is wide enough so that the undergarment is hidden at the neck under the outer garment. The special sleeve cut stays close at the upper arm and has drawstrings for an individual fit. The hem of the sleeves is very wide, creating the typical trumpet shape. They were not only fashionable, but also a status symbol, because wearing such wide sleeves was not suitable for everyday workers. This was usually not visible because it was considered indecent.
