By mid-century, it had become one of the most widely used combat helmets throughout Europe. This type of helmet existed in many shapes and variations, from simple to elaborate, open or peaked, with more or less pronounced neck protection, etc., and was especially popular in Italy ( celata ). , Germany, France ( salade ) and England ( sallet ) are very popular.

The Schaller offered here is made of approximately 1.6 mm thick steel and is based on 15th-century German models, as seen in the German National Museum in Nuremberg.

The helmet's hood has a wide neck guard and a slight ridge or crest running across the crown. It is equipped with a movable face shield secured with steel rivets. When closed, the fold-down visor leaves a viewing space approximately 1.5 to 2 cm wide and 15 cm long with the lower edge extended forward, ensuring sufficient visibility and air circulation. The neck guard and visor are crimped at the bottom.

The visored helmet is blackened inside for improved corrosion protection and has an adjustable leather inlay secured with rivets. The adjustable black leather chin strap* features an antique brass buckle (*images above may vary from actual color).

This wearable knight's helmet is suitable for reenactment, LARP, stage, or television/film, and best suits late medieval settings. It's ideal for completing a European warrior's armor and will make your transformation into a proud knight simply perfect.
