The origin of this garment lies in the Franconian doublet, which was used as an undergarment beginning in the 14th century.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Beginning in the 15th century, the doublet appeared as an outer garment in Spanish fashion and became widespread throughout Europe. Typical features of this type of garment were its close-fitting fit, a small high collar, and a seam at the waist. It was usually luxuriously decorated and made from high-quality materials.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eThe doublet reached the waist or hips and sometimes had an attached lap. The attached lap covered the transition to the trousers, which were attached directly to the doublet with nestle straps.
