The distinctive visor design with a projecting muzzle gave this medieval helmet its name. \u003ci\u003eSchweinegugel\u003c\/i\u003e is another, albeit uncommon, term for this type of helmet.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The visored helmet we offer here is based on an original piece from the late 14th century, which can now be admired in the Churburg ( \u003ci\u003eCastel Coira\u003c\/i\u003e ) armory in South Tyrol.\u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003eIt's made of approximately 1.6 mm thick steel and has a fully removable face shield, held securely in place by pins. The visor is equipped with a series of viewing slits approximately 1.5 cm high and 0.5 cm wide, and the numerous round openings on the right side provide the necessary air circulation.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Steel \u003ci\u003evervelles\u003c\/i\u003e were placed on the sides and bottom edge of the hull. These small, protruding rivets with holes are used to attach a chain link (the link is not included).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The interior is blackened for improved corrosion protection and features a padded piece of black cotton fabric, secured with sturdy stitching to the helmet's brim.
