The handle section belongs to Type H, which was used around 800–950 AD and must have been very popular, as numerous finds demonstrate the widespread use of this type of sword handle.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eThis sword is exclusively handmade. The short, straight guard and the characteristic triangular-crowned pommel are made of forged, heat-treated cast iron. The blade runs continuously to the pommel, where it is hand-riveted. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap. The blade is forged from high-quality spring steel and tempered to approximately 48–50 HRC. It has a pronounced groove, giving the sword great elasticity yet lightness.
