Careful heat treatment of the 5160 steel (Tinker's favorite) through hot-dip hardening (marquenching) results in an excellent combination of strength and flexibility, with a Rockwell hardness of 50–52 HRC. This allows for increased edge strength on sharpened blades, while preventing burr formation on dull models and ensuring the tip's safety-related flexibility.

Although not a direct copy of a specific sword, this Viking sword was based on historical models from the 9th century. Particularly in Trondheim, Norway, swords were found that showed a preference for circular depressions in the decoration of the hilts. The attachment points and an elegant headstock give the scabbard an attractive appearance. Viking swords differ from the other swords in the Tinker series in that the riveted tang and the blunt blade of the version are intended more for fighting than for training. Replacement blades are still available separately for experienced fencers to replace riveted blades, as is the case with all the other swords in this series. The handling of both versions of this sword (with a sharp or blunt blade) is almost identical.

Key Features:
- Heat-treated 5160 spring steel (hot-dip hardening)
- Riveted knob
- Tested by tinker

Details:
- Exhibition combat quality class: sk-a
Learn more about our fight rating show
- Total length: approx. 95cm
- Blade length: approx. 77 cm
- Handle length: approx. 17cm
- Weight: approx. 1250 g
- Manufacturer's item number: sh2409

The above specifications may vary slightly from sword to sword.

Additionally available:
- Replacement blade for tinker early viking sword - blunt (item number hn-oh2420)
- Tinker early Viking sword with sharpened blade (item number hn-sh2408)< br>- Replacement blade for Tinker early Viking sword - sharpened (item number hn-oh2419)

At Tienda Medieval, we have thousands of medieval and other period products.
