The crossguard is type 6, and the Brazil nut pommel, so typical of Norman swords, is type A.\u003cbr\u003e The forged EN45 spring steel blade is oil-hardened and tempered to approximately 50 HRC. It is forged up to the pommel and riveted there to the end of the handle. The wooden handle is wrapped in leather. The crossguard is forged from steel. The blade has a pronounced groove, giving the sword great elasticity yet lightness. The blade tip and cutting edges are blunt and rounded.
