It was designed by Roger Harrington, a British custom knife maker and experienced outdoor enthusiast who has run his company , Bison Bushcraft, for twenty years. He offers bushcraft and survival courses for individuals and military personnel in Sussex, England.

The approximately 9 cm long blade of this robust full-tang bushcraft knife is made of approximately 4 mm thick Sleipner steel with a Rockwell hardness of 58-60 HRC. It is therefore extremely durable and perfect for tasks requiring high levels of stress, such as splitting wood or batoning . The knife remains lightweight and easy to transport. With its Scandinavian cut, the blade is very stable and can be easily sharpened with a small, flat whetstone in the forest or outdoors. This knife is simply an excellent all-round tool for use in the field.

The handle is straight and has rounded edges, making it suitable for as many hand sizes as possible. It is made from 5,000-year-old bog oak wood harvested in England and has a rough surface structure. The color of bog oak can vary from deep black to dark brown. The set also includes a leather strap, and black liners have been installed between the handle scales and the steel to increase the knife's lifespan.

The knife comes with a durable, welded sheath made of vegetable-tanned leather in a cognac brown color. The sheath has a belt loop and a drainage hole.

Please note: If the blade is left or stored damp or wet, it will tarnish due to its low chromium content. To prevent rust from forming, it should always be wiped dry with a cloth immediately after use. If stored for a longer period and not in use, it should be treated with a suitable protective oil or wax.

Details:
- Blade material: Sleipner steel
- Handle material: swamp oak with black coating
- Total length: approx. 20.5cm
- Blade length: approx. 8.8 cm
- Weight: approx. case
- Manufacturer's item number: 10829. At Medieval Store, we have thousands of medieval and other period products.
