It was built in 1881 in a very remote location; until the road was completed in the 1960s, all freight traffic was carried to the town. Transport to and from the distillery by sea is nevertheless predestined for its excellent, clean water and high-quality peat. The distillery uses water from an outflow from the nearby Loch Staoisha, whose name has now become synonymous with whisky. \u003ci\u003eBunnahabhain\u003c\/i\u003e is known for its relatively sweet, nutty, and sometimes heavily peaty single malts. So we chose a heavily peated eight-year-old Staoisha for our debut of exclusive single cask bottlings under the Einherjer Edition label.\u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003eWhiskey is a beer with its origins in distillation, so it's no surprise that many brewers are also passionate about distilled barley juice.
